Health, Safety & Environmental Policy


Policy

The Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy is provided to ensure the health and safety of ships’ staff, the safety of the vessel and her cargo, the protection of the marine and local environment, and to ensure compliance with the ISM Code, ISPS Code, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Company vessels shall comply with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships MARPOL 1973/1978, ISO 14001 and any applicable Legal requirements and regulations including local laws.

The Company seeks to minimise all Health, Safety and Environmental risks by:

• Ensuring that a safe and healthy working and living environment is provided for ship’s staff

• Having procedures in place to identify risks to health, safety and the environment that may occur during the operation of the vessel

• Monitoring the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of ship operations and conducting investigations of shipboard incidents and near misses

• Committing to continual improvement with regard to Health, Safety and the Environment.

• Suitably training Ship’s staff in order to safely carry out their duties

• Using corrective and preventative actions from incident investigation and audit reports, to improve Health, Safety and Environmental management skills onboard ship and in the Company office

• Implementing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) that complies with the requirements of ISO 14001

• Continuously improving standards and minimising the risk of accidents or incidents.


The Company Has Appointed an Environmental Management Representative (EMR)

• Who will co-ordinate any new aspects identified by either the vessel or the office, and evaluate the environmental objectives and targets as appropriate.
